Horses Inside Out Tour

by Jessica Blackwell

Western Australia (and Victoria) were extremely lucky to have a visit from world renowned biomechanical and anatomical painting expert Gillian Higgins for her 10th Anniversary Horses Inside Out World Tour in April 2016.
In her presentations, Gillian gives a fascinating insight into equine locomotion, training and management from an anatomical perspective but in an easy to understand way that can be enjoyed by all, by painting the internal anatomy (or some of it) on the outside of the horse.  She then puts the horses through a series of ground and ridden exercises so the audience can truly see how the body moves.

In WA we were even lucky enough to get a bow and a levade thrown in by the awesome Yogi!!
Gillian has given demonstrations at the Global Dressage Forum in Holland, the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky, the World Arab Horse Organisation in Qatar as well as at the Horse University in Brazil, the Horse Expo in South Africa as well as many European countries so we felt very lucky to have her!!

In her WA workshops she also covered a video lecture on "Training from the Anatomical Perspective", a horse owners course on Painting and Pilates, and a therapists course on mobilisation and soft tissue techniques, as well as her world renowned "Evening Extravaganza" which was viewed by over 150 people.  The audience ranged from horse owners, to competitive riders, judges and even the CEO of Equestrian Western Australia.

Gillian will be back in 2018.  To find out more hop on to the facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/horsesinsideoutaustralia
