The EWA Show Horse held its first show for 2016 on the weekend of 16 & 17 April.  This show was generously sponsored by Off the Track – Supporting Western Australian Retired Racehorses. 

This show was previously known as the Autumn Show but was rebadged this year as the Autumn Pageant.  Childs classes will be held this year for the first time at the National Horse of the Year at Werribee so for the first time a full program was dedicated to Childs classes on the Saturday with the open program on the Sunday.  There was a wonderful display of over 80 horses and ponies entered over the weekend.

Judges for the weekend were Miss Tanya Chapman and Mr Greg Trembath both from SA.  They were both highly complimentary of WA’s horses and ponies.

Saturday brought sunny warm conditions for the children on their horses and ponies to strut their stuff.  Whilst Sunday started off with showers early in the morning the weather held off until after the judging of the final class.

Two classes for Off the Track Thoroughbreds (Show Horse and Show Hunter) were hotly contested and proudly sponsored by Off the Track with a $250 cash prize on offer for each class, lovely rugs and rosettes for the winners whilst the 2nd and 3rd place horses received a sash and Off the Track browband.
A class for Off the Track (WA Series) was also run with the winner automatically qualifying for the National Final and Winner and Runner up eligible for the State Final later in the year.
